Norcold NEW DOOR

A call to Norcold was met with an instantaneous name, address etc. and a new door is shipped out directly to me.

BTW - it was an 821 Norcold

Wow, I'm impressed! This is better service than most people have talked
about so maybe Norcold is coming around. Mine broke under warranty and
the dealer I bought the unit from took care of it thru Jayco & Norcold.
Now I'm out of warranty and hopefully it won't happen again since I put
the little reinforcement bracket on when I installed the door. No word
yet from Norcold as to when these will be available to us.

Victor that was very encouraging to read. Pleased that Norcold has recognized the problem. We've liked our last three fridges (all Norcold and 2 were 4 door and very large) so I'm glad I don't have to be disappointed.

I want the new bracket too so I don't have this problem again. Norcold knows nothing about it at all. I wonder what we can do to get some of these from the source on the board here?

When my 821 broke under warranty, the same thing happened - Norcold shipped the door directly to me.

However, I have called about the reinforcement bracket - said there was no part number available to sale to the public - and will be pissed if my door breaks again before I can get a bracket.

I forwarded the results of the poll to my friend who is a supplier for
Norcold and he got it to the engineer who is trying to push these things
out the door. It's not really in his division so he's going "back door"
to try to get them out....and not having much luck apparently. It's a
simple fix and looks like it will work well to protect the hinge from
breaking because it takes the load and spreads it out beyond the plastic
hinge.

I'll fire off another email with this latest result from Norcold service.

My dealer will be installing my new door at the end of next week.. I will let everyone know if it came with the new bracket attached, or if it looks reinforced.

I've been trying to do just that, but I'm assuming losing his job over
it isn't big on his list of things to do this month. He was worried I
would leak his name to the RV lists in the first place.

No how do you suppose I remove the Wood Cabinet looking door face from the old refirgerator door and get that installed onto the new one?

Victor, when you take the door off, on one side is a plastic strip (retainer) that you sort of peel off and then the wood part will slide out. You slide it into the new door, put the plastic strip back on and you're set.
