What year and model Kodiak do you have?
You can find lots of info about MPG improvements on Diesel Place.
http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/index.php
Be aware that many of the programmers available for a pickup will not
work on the Kodiak.
There are some cheap mods that will improve MPG. One is a EGR blocker.
Also a PCV reroute will help. Some exhaust mods will help also.
Exhaust mods depend on which engine you have. LLY, LBZ or LMM. Some
are removing the DPF on the LMM model That improves MPG considerably.
Depends if yearly inspections are required in your state. So far I
have not seen a complete Banks Kit for the Kodiak. Very hard to find
Exhaust kits/parts for the Kodiak from anyone other than custom.
I have done the EGR and PCV mods with great results. MPG has increased
by 1.5. Working on replacing stock muffler and CAT.
Do a search on Diesel Place for above mods. There are better
programmers than Banks for the Kodiak. They do claim theirs will not
affect warranty.
I do not have a programmer. One mod that I have seen notes on are
programming to shut all boost off when driving on level ground.
If you have a LLY, removing the turbo mouthpiece and smoothing out the
inside surface will improve MPG. I have mine done, but have not had it
on the road yet.
