Jayco 32SS 8.1 litre running rough when going uphill

Yahoo Message Number: 11943
My Jayco 32SS gasser runs rough when going uphill. Thought it was the plugs and wires so I replaced them. Still have the same problem. I'm going to replace the gas filter but I can't seem to find one like what's on it. The filters in the manual don't match up. Has anyone else had this problem or know which Fuel filter to use.

I haven't seen any replies to this Brent, did you ever figure out what
the problem was? I've got the same drivetrain in my Jayco, but have
never run into this problem before. I was watching to see what might
have caused it.

Do you have a scan gauge or something that can tell you if you have any
error codes stored? Getting that scanned would be a good start.

Thanks for the reply, I just found the fuel filter today, I'm going to install it tomorrow, I'll let you you know the outcome. If that's not the problem I'll have to call my mechanic. You might want to make note of the filter it's a GM 10376257 I bought it from the chevy truck dealer near me. They charged $118.00. Now that I now which one it is though I see them online for around $78.00. It's on the rail, drivers side behind the rear wheels.

Great info to have, thanks! I'll have to pick one up before we head west
in the spring along with new tires, alignment, wheel bearing
check...etc. It's going to be an expensive spring.

Take care,
Greg

For those who are planning on buying the 8.1 fuel filter, you can save a considerable sum over a period of time by going to: oemys-performance.com

they sell a fuel filter converter that once installed will allow you to buy regular priced fuel filters whenever putting a new one in rather than the more expensive gm original version.

the converter sells for about 50.00 and is a once and done purchase. the fuel filter itself costs about 6.00 plus shipping.

if you go to their web site they have a fuel filter adapter installation link that shows detailed instructions and pictures on changing the oem filter out.

i found out about this on rv net and just ordered one for my 8.1 2009 kodiak

good luck
john

you can save some money on replacing oem fuel filters by buying an adaptor that, once installed, will only require a regular fuel for all future fuel filter changes.

go to: oemys-performance.com

they sell the adaptor and filter and have very detailed fuel filter adapter installation instruction along with pictures.

i found out about them on rvnet and just ordered the adaptor and filter for 65.00 including shipping.

check it out
