TV hookup, 2005 Gulfstream

Yahoo Message Number: 1960
Hello gang,
Does anyone know how the cable for the TV is run for a 2005 Golfstream
with the overhead Entertainment center? Looking at the manual from
AntennaTek, the cable should go to a wallplate with a splitter, then
one cable to the front and one to the bedroom. I just removed my TV (to
replace with an LCD TV) and just found an RG59 cable coming from
overhead. I opened the wallplate in the bedroom, only one connection.
Where is the splitter? How do I verify the antenna (amplified)is hooked
up to 12 VDC? Never thought I had very good reception.
Thanks,
Bill

I have found 1 splitter in my 2004 6340. It is located behind the
outside entertainment center.
The front and rear TV are split at the distribution box in the
entertainment center.
You can check wiring after comes into MH in bottom of cabinet on
driver side of bedroom cabinet. Towards front of MH. Models other than
the 6340 may have a different layout.

I better clarify the above statement.
The front and rear TV are split at the distribution box in the
entertainment center. Should have said "FRONT entertainment center".

Ron,
Thanks for the reply. Also, thanks for the pics of your TV
installation, giving me some ideas.
My question to you is, what distribution box? Or, where is it
located? When I removed the tube TV in Overhead Entertainment center,
I found the cable coming from overhead. When I jiggle it, I can hear
it above, heading back towards the antenna.
Was thinking of removing the crank mechanism to see what is there.
My coach is a 2005 Conquest, I do not have the outside entertainment
center.

The distribution box in our Endura is located in door to right of TV.
I posted a picture of the TV and accessory cabinets in my photos.

From bottom up is DVD player, Diretv box then distribution box. Some
2005 and later models have TV on the right. Do you have the Winegard
outlet in the entertainment center? It should look like this item.

I dropped the speaker panel above entertainment center to get access
to all wires and cables. It is stapled in. Put back up with small
screws and washers.

Thanks again, Ron.
My Entertainment Center (EC)looks the same as yours, TV in the
center. But mine did not come with anything in the cabinet where your
distribution box is, except for two electrical outlets and a
wallplate with RCA jacks that I hook my dvd player into. RCA cords
come out the backside of it and went to the TV.
Last night when I got home I went out to do a little more looking.
The cable that went to the TV goes across the top of the EC and drops
down in the small cabinet to the right of the one you show in the
pic. There it comes down a few inches from the top and goes through
the right side wall of the cabinet. I could not tell if it goes up or
down from there.
My Batwing is made by AntennaTek;they also show a plate similar to
the one in your link that is used as the splitter between the 2 TV's
and the cable. I can not find it anywhere. I will try and contact
Gulf Stream and/or Conquest today.
Once again, you have been more than helpful. Thanks for the info.

Well, with help from a gentleman on the Gulf Stream Owners forum, I
was able to find it.
The wall plate type device was on the underside of the kitchen
cabinet above the sink. What an odd place for it, might of never
found it.
Now I can't wait to see how much difference it makes in reception to
turn the booster on.
Thanks again for all the help. Next step is mounting the LCD TV with
the articulating mount. Don't know when I will get this done, but I
will try and post some pics.
Thanks again,
Bill

I have not been keeping up with the site. I have a 6340 Endura an 06, have no cable to the BR TV is this your objective? I have 3 coax coming to the "device" which one goes to the rear TV? The "device" was broken when I bought the unit but definitely wiring was messed up. I got all corrected but no cable to rear TV. Do you have a selector switchbox in your center?

appreciate any input
thanks
Mike

Mike,
That was not my original objective, but one of my next steps. I was
looking for the amplifer for the antenna, and to make sure I had a
splitter to feed the back bedroom TV. Since I bought the rig, I have
never used the bedroom TV connection, the TV in the front
Entertainment center was large enough to watch from bed. But I do
want to make sure it works, I do plan on adding a LCD TV back there
soon.
And I do not have a selector box, that is why I was worried that I
did not have a splitter to the back. I could not find the wall plate
amp/splitter until yesterday. Ron has the Endura, he has the selector
box in his.
Holler if you have any questions.
Good luck,
Bill

Glad you got your wiring sorted out. Under the sink may be a better
place than reaching all the way back in my entertainment center to
switch from cable to antenna.
If you do not have wiring to the rear TV. It should not be a big
problem feeding a wire through the overhead AC ducts.

Thanks for the reply Bill, mine has no indication of a selector box and no indication of wiring. Thanks again and I'm working on it.
