My first and rather long posting with any group ever February 22, 2008, 09:01:00 pm Yahoo Message Number: 673Hello to you allI had a day off and I spent most of it reading many of the postingsfrom the old to the new. I have much to learn and all of you seemto have a great amount of experience and knowledge.I and my wife traded in our 02 Jayco travel trailer for our 07 Jaycogas powered Chevy Kodiak Greyhawk 33DS, in August 2007. We did ourtrade in and purchase online w/RVDirect.com. We delivered our trailerand returned with the MH from Albany. This was a fairdistance from our home and it gave me a good chance to experience thehandling. Our first camping was in South Carolina, with only onemishap. The attic fan was broken and blowing open. I stopped securedit and had it covered w/ a MaxAir vent cover. Once we returned home, I took it to our local Jayco authorized dealer for replacement. Theyalso checked out other warranty concerns I had. This was the dealerwe had purchased our 02 trailer from, but their prices on MHs werehigher than what I found online.I too wanted the Senca, but I could not get past the diffence in costof Gas power vs Diesel, and Diesel fuel cost are presently higher.None the less, I plan on keeping this unit well into my eventualretiremnet, so I need to learn and interact with all of you to gaininsight in to what future is ahead of us all. Some of the things I have done so far: I placed MaxAir vent coversover all three of our roof vents. Two of which are designed to beused with attic fans(Fan/Mate model 800), the third one is a regularcover over a non-powered vent. I installed a Mud flap w/reflectors(from CAMPING WORLD) across the back bumper for toad/dingyprotection. I know the flap will reduce my fuel savings and I am notpresently towing. I installed a Winegard entertainment select box inthe entertainment system located above the truck cab. There is noover cab bed. I Installed 15"LCD TV in the bedroom on a THULE systemhanger, that THULE does not recommend you use while in transit. However, I made a clamping system that makes it safe. Their systemenables us to bring the TV outside under the awning too. This way thesystem serves a dual purpose. I installed two more deep cycle 12V.House batteries, we have three all total.I'll have questions about the 15,000 vs the 19,000 lb. rear springs, I'm sure our unit has the 15,000 lb.springs, but for now I need tostop and send this rather long post. Thanks, John Quote Selected
