Jayco Kodiak Structural Connectors February 04, 2008, 08:54:31 pm Yahoo Message Number: 564I never woulda thunk about this issue had it not been for Denny's RVFactor blog. Thanks again Denny... I think. Anyway, he describes theconnector bolts used in his 4-Winds to attach the motorhome shellflooring to the frame. I looked at his pictures and my first thoughtwas "hey those look pretty substantial". However I read on and hisconcerns eventually made sense. So then I figured, maybe I'll just go out and get a look at the boltsholding the flooring to the frame in our Jayco 33DS. So withflashlight and creeper I once again went lurking under the chassis. But dang... I just couldn't see any bolts remotely looking like thepictures in the RVFactor.Well I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that all I could locateholding it all together were some self-tapping screws and not even awhole lot of those (I uploaded a picture of what I observed). Now Icertainly don't pretend to understand the physics & engineeringinvolved in deciding what's the best way to hold a motorhome togetherbut I gotta tell you that the picture of the bolt secured with nut &washer sure "feels" more substantial to me than a screw.Don't know if this is a Kodiak/Greyhawk situation only or if itextends to the Senecas as well.Bill Quote Selected
